The goal of these walks are to provide people with an educational and engaging outdoor experience. Learning basic identification features to break plants and mushrooms down into groups can make identifying the organisms growing all around us is an engaging and paradigm-shifting experience. Beyond identification, these walks focus on edible and medicinal uses of plants and mushrooms, and other notable tidbits that will inevitably come up during the walk. Participants will leave with a new sense of wonder about the world of plants and mushrooms, the ability to positively identify a variety of common foods and medicines, and a list of common plants and mushrooms of the area along with their uses.

These walks are perfect for school groups, summer camps, conservation societies, a weekend with friends, or anytime folks want to get outside and learn a bit about the world around them! I believe that the natural world holds the greatest discoveries to come, and I hope these walks will give as many people as possible the tools to engage in the plant and fungal world in a meaningful way.
